Reds Legends camp a joy

Its not everyday that you get visited by the mayor, and recognized by the city of Marietta for your volunteer work. We were all very honored; myself, my family, and all the Reds Legends event staff past and present when Marietta Mayor Joe Matthews And the city of Marietta presented us with an official proclamation, and recognized our 20th anniversary of the Cincinnati Reds Legends Youth Baseball Camp last week.

We were all very proud to receive this special honor, and truly appreciate mayor Matthews for his thoughtfulness. Twenty years is a long time to work towards a goal, and its great to know that a few people in your community see your hard work, and can appreciate it. Many summers have come and gone by since 1993, and the good friends we have made along the way have helped to make our event what it is today. New friends and old friends alike have helped to make this year and previous years successful and memorable.

I wish I could somehow store this year’s event in a bottle, and open it up a little bit every year from now on. Because this summer was a dream event that was pure joy from beginning to end.
