Worry about your own sins

Last week a certain gentleman from Belpre asked us to, “Pick up the Bible and read the words of God.” This was in reference to a specific sin that Jesus himself never talked about in any shape or form in the Bible. But what did Jesus say about sin and those who point them out?

In Matthew 7:1, Jesus gave the advice to, “Judge not, lest you be judged.” Also in that chapter Jesus told his followers not to worry about the speck of sin in another person when you have your own sin to worry about. I am certain we can provide the gentleman with all the stones he might want to throw at those he considers sinful. After all in John 8:7 Jesus said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

My advice is to live your life to the best of your ability and cause no harm to those that have not done any to you. Our government isn’t a Christian theocracy, thank goodness, and they are just to decide how to protect the citizen’s rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
