Lee Willingham Nelson

Lee Willingham Nelson, 99 of Wheeling, WV formerly of Parkersburg, WV died on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling, WV.

She was born September 6, 1919 in Anderson, SC the daughter of the late Harold Lee Willingham and Elzie Foster Willingham Moss.

Lee was a High School graduate of Parkersburg High School and a graduate of Blackstone College in Blackstone, VA. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Parkersburg, WV; a member of The Kings Daughters; a member of DAR- James Wood chapter in Parkersburg, WV and a member of the United Methodist Women. She loved to travel, spend time with her family and play bridge.

In addition to her parents, Lee was preceded in death by her husband, William Clark Nelson who passed away in 2010.

Surviving are her two daughters, Mary (Carroll “Bud”) Hall of Salinas, CA and Kathleen (Edward) Corbitt of Wheeling, WV; 2 grandchildren, Mark Corbitt of Columbus, OH and Amy (Marcus) McCarthy of Wheeling, WV; 3 great grandchildren, Randall Corbitt, Michael Scaglione and Abby McCarthy; a sister in law, Jean (Lou) Graham of Temple, TX and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements by the Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Rd, Wheeling, WV (304 232-2732).

Friends received on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 10 A M until time of service at 11 A M at the First United Methodist Church, 1001 Juliana St., Parkersburg, WV 26101 with the Reverend Jake Steele officiating. Interment will follow in the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens, Parkersburg, WV.

The family would like to express their thanks to the loving and caring staff on 3 North at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
