Delno Winland

Delno Winland died at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, WV on February 9, 2019 at the age of 85. Delno is survived by his children, Terri Winland of New York, NY, Kelly Winland and his wife, Trish of Salem, WV, and Scott Winland and his wife, Jolynn of St. Marys, WV; siblings, Bonnie Thomas of Newport, OH, and Shelba Brown and her husband, Jim of Parkersburg, WV, sister-in-law, Esther Winland of St. Marys, WV, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Homer Winland, Denton Winland, and Oran Winland as well as his sisters, Mildred Efaw, and Phyllis Barley.

Delno was born on October 1, 1933, in St. Marys, WV to Ben and Rhoda Winland. He graduated from St. Marys High School in 1953. Delno was a Master Mechanic and Machinist with the former Quaker State Oil Refinery in St. Marys, WV for 30 years. His children remember him as a driven father, who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Delno was also a professional photographer and often took photographs for high school yearbooks and weddings. Among his achievements, Delno also won the Golden Horseshoe Award for West Virginia History in the 7th grade.

A service is scheduled for Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at 11 AM at the Ingram Funeral Home in St. Marys, WV, with Rob Fraser officiating, with a reception to follow at the George Street Church of Christ. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Delno’s life. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P. M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
