Donald J. Wolfe

Donald J. Wolfe, 90, of Parkersburg, passed away Friday, October 19, 2018 at his residence.

He was born November 23, 1927 in Cairo, West Virginia, a son of the late Grover and Lennet Neely Wolfe.

Don graduated in 1945 from Cairo High School, and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was owner and operator of Wolfe Camper Sales and had worked 17 years at DuPont Washington Works.

He was a member of Gideon’s International and Cairo Masonic Lodge #114. Don had coached Tri-C little league baseball, was a Boy Scout Leader, enjoyed golf, gardening, and sports. He was a former 50 year member and Sunday school teacher of Trinity United Methodist Church, had attended the Broadway Nazarene Church and was a current member of the Christ Mission Baptist Church and he loved his church family.

Don is survived by his daughter, Kim (Ray) Flinn of Bluffton, South Carolina; two sons, Jay (Mollie) Wolfe of Salem, West Virginia and Jamie (Connie) Wolfe of Washington, West Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Marsha Wolfe of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Betty Black of Mount Holly, North Carolina; seven grandchildren, Aaron (Kelly) Hartleben, Jodi (Adam) Cottrell, Katie (Jamie) Elbon, Nathan Wolfe, Adam (Jill) Wolfe, Abby (Holden) Cross, and Dru (Brandi) Wolfe; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and a host of numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene I. Moore Wolfe; and brothers and sisters, Woodrow, Mary, Betty, Naomi, and Robert.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, south Parkersburg with Pastor Mark Watkins officiating. Interment will follow at the Cairo Odd Fellows Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #15. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
