Danny J. R. Perry

Danny J. R. Perry, 70, of Millwood, WV, on October 19, 2018, was escorted by the Angels to heaven from Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital in Columbus, OH. He was born on May 23, 1948, in Youngstown, OH, son of the late Lewis E. and Ermaleen V. Blouir Perry and Herschel E. Dalrymple. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Joyce Ann, Eugenia Brown and Verna Dalrymple, 1 brother, Donnie Dalrymple, 1 nephew, Matthew D. Brown, and Steve Blouir, his best friend and cousin.

Dan is survived by his wife and best friend, Cyndi Parsons Perry of Millwood, WV, daughter, Lizabeth and Randy Lanham of Parkersburg, WV, very close niece and nephew, Maggie Parsons of Charleston WV & Abe Riser of Millwood, WV. mother-in -law Gladys Whitlatch Parsons, 3 sisters, Penny Perry of Millwood, WV, Karen McBrayer of Belmont, WV, Darlene Grimm of Paden City, WV, 6 brothers, Tony (Mary Sue) Perry of St. Marys, Ronnie Dalrymple of New Matamoras OH, Herschel Dalrymple of Newport OH, Lonnie & Carl Dalrymple of Belmont WV, and Eddie Dalrymple of Sistersville, WV, 3 brother-in- laws: Charlie Parsons of Millwood WV, Mike (Lisa Parsons) of Parkersburg WV, Tim (Kayla) Parsons of Charleston WV, his dog,“Bear,” and many nieces and nephews

Dan served his country proudly in the U.S Army as a Ranger in the 82nd Air Bourne Division MACV Ranger Team 21, as an advisor in Vietnam. Dan worked as an Iron Worker, Law Enforcement, Executive Protection, and he was the first Park Policeman at Mountwood Park in the 1980’s. He retired in 2013 as a Contract Manager with SCG & Paragon Systems, after 18 years of working on government contracts. He was an avid outdoorsman . He loved to hunt, trap, and fish anything that involved being in the woods. Dan also loved to tell stories of his adventures throughout his life, he would say “Now I am very serious when I tell you this” He never met a stranger and had the gift to put a smile on anybody’s face, always full of love, life and laughter. Dan’s wisdom was well beyond his years, you could always count on him to come up with the solution to any problem you had. He had a life full of friends, who were more like family, 4 of his dearest lifelong friends are Joe McCarter, Tom Boyles, Phil Cring, & Kenny Crawford.

Service will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 3 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home in St. Marys, WV, with Pastor Jack Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasants Memorial Estates, Eureka, WV, with military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2 to 9 P. M. Friday, and from 12 noon to 3 P. M. Saturday at the funeral home.
