Steven K. Ashcraft
Steven K. Ashcraft, 58, of Mineral Wells, Egypt Run Road, WV. passed away September 9, 2018 at his residence under the loving care of his family and Amedisys Hospice due to extended illness.
He was born on February 6, 1960 at St Mary’s Hospital, Clarksburg, WV, a son of Duane Ashcraft and the late Barbara Elaine Smith Ashcraft.
Most importantly, Steven was a Christian with strong faith, active in church and a member of First Lutheran Church of Parkersburg.
Steven was a graduate of Fairmont West High School, attended Fairmont State College and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His main occupation was Heating and Air conditioning service. He had a variety of interest, including electronics, short wave radio, honey bees, gardening, trail hiking, camping, bird watching and visiting West Virginia State Parks.
Surviving is his wife of 21 years, Judith Ann Kosterbauder Ashcraft, father Duane Ashcraft, uncles Dr. Ken Smith, Kansas, Harry Ashcraft of Austin, Texas, niece Alicia Bell of Parkersburg,
nephew Kenneth Bell of Belpre, Ohio, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Letch and Martha Smith of Wallace, West Virginia and Kenneth and Edith Smith of Pawcatuck, Connecticut, five uncles, an aunt and sister Karen Conant, Belpre, Ohio
Steve was very close to his family, especially his granddad Ashcraft and his mother and father and wife.
The family would like to thank WVU Ruby Hospital’s Physicians and nursing staff for the care given to Steven.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Friday at the First Lutheran Church of Parkersburg with Rev. Ian B. Reid officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 prior to the memorial service.
