Loyd L. Lipps, 87 of Little Hocking, Ohio died on June 18, 2018 at The Heritage in St. Marys, WV. He was born in Frametown, WV and was the son of the late Homer Joseph and Alice May Blake Lipps. He drove truck for and retired from AGA Gas, Washington, WV. He was a Korean War Army veteran where he received the Korean War Service Metal and spent 8 years in the Reserves. He was a member of the Teamster Local #175, a WVU fan, loved mowing, and western movies. He attended Belpre High School and worked as a deputy for the Washington County Sherriff’s Dept.

Survivors include a son, Chuck Lipps of Little Hocking, Ohio and a daughter, Toni (Art) Smith of Little Hocking, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dora A. Lipps who died March 17, 2018, brothers, Harry, Joe, Carl, Robert Lee Lipps, and Earl “Buck” Ratliff, his sisters, Mary Frame, Virginia “Maxine” King, Barb Eddy, Pauline Lipps, and Betty Lipps.

Services will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with burial to follow in the Rockland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Military services will be conducted by Post #15 of the American Legion.

The family would like to thank Jay Powell and the staff at The Hertiage for what they did for our father. Also thank you to Kay Gillilan and her staff for their care, and to Dr. Heavner and Dr. Heather Straight.
