Thomas W. Arnold

Thomas Withers Arnold, 91, of Belpre, passed away May 25, 2017 at Cedar Grove Assisted Living.

He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 22, 1927, one of three sons of the late William Allen and Margaret Lucille Hall Arnold.

Tom proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II and then with the Marines in the Korean Conflict. He had worked for Remington Rand in the Univac Division, Debold Sales and then retired from Erie Insurance working out of the Tom Azinger office. He was very active in the community being involved with the Masonic Lodge, Shrine Club and transporting patients to the Shriners Hospitals, Eastern Star, Elks, Belpre Senior Citizens Center and in local city politics. He and his wife had the privilege of serving as ushers at Ohio State Games for several years. Tom was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Parkersburg for over forty years and was active with the Men’s Group.

Surviving Tom are his wife of sixty-eight years June King Arnold, children Pamela Strcula (David), Thomas Arnold Jr. (Libby), eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by two brothers William and James Arnold.

The family will greet family and friends from 5-7 on Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Parkersburg to share memories and stories of Tom.

The family would like to thank Cedar Grove, House Calls Hospice, Tender Loving Care and the Little Hocking Volunteer Fire Department for the care and concern for Tom and the family.
