Charles “Chuck” Ritchie Ledbetter

Charles “Chuck” Ritchie Ledbetter, 66, of Hazelgreen Rd. in Smithville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Summa Health Systems Hospital in Akron, OH following a medical emergency.

He was born in Bluefield, WV on July 24, 1951, son of the late Ritchie Ledbetter and Ola Clementine Roten Ledbetter.

He is survived by his wife, Annette Yeager Ledbetter of Smithville, WV; three daughters: Rita Ann Ledbetter of Belpre, OH, Christal Ledbetter of Clarksburg, WV and Lisa (Nicky) Sprouse, of Alum Bridg, WV; two stepchildren: Joseph (Miranda) Yeager, and Tina (Kenny) Self, both of Coxs Mills, WV; two grandchildren: Christopher Ledbetter and Summer Sprouse; four step grandchildren: Matthew and Brian Self, and Olivya and Wyatt Yeager; two sisters: Beverley (Alan) McWilliam, of Lewisville, OH and Patricia Ledbetter of Bluefield VA; one nephew, Michael (Jennifer) McWilliam, of Medina, OH; and one niece, Trista (Adam) Frelick of Abbs Valley, VA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janie Marie Ledbetter.

Chuck was an honored veteran of the United States Marine Corps, then was employed as a rubber worker for Goodyear Tire Company, where they produced racing tires, and he retired with 23 years of service. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, and socializing with his friends.

Friends and family will gather to reminisce and share stories at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Funeral Services will follow at 6 p.m. from the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Wease Day officiating. Following the funeral, Chuck’s request for cremation will be honored.
