Myrtle Laveria Lowther
Myrtle Laveria Lowther, 87, of St. Marys, WV, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, March 6, 2018, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born, April 9, 1930, in St. Marys, WV, a daughter of the late Herman Harold, Sr. and Alice Cox Lamp. She was a 1948 graduate of St. Marys High School, and she had worked for the former Michael’s Cleaners and R & L Cleaners. She was a member of the Shadow Hill Baptist Church in St. Marys, WV, and she retired in 1990, after 20 years with the former Colin Anderson Center. After she retired, she did seamstress work out of her home. She loved to cook, sew, and had been a Sunday School Teacher. She and her husband had helped start several churches in the area and through their ministry helped saved many adults and children.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Abby Emerick of Clover, SC, her children, Kayla, Zach, and Morgan, and nephew, Herman Harold Lamp, III of St. Marys, WV, foster sons, Mickey Finn, Jr. of Morgantown, WV, and Rainey Wrobel of Belmont, WV, sisters-in-law, Connie Lamp of St. Marys, WV, and Shauna Lowther Sayre of Parkersburg, WV, brothers-in-law, Dale (Judy) Lowther of Parkersburg, WV, and Gene Lowther of Belmont, WV, and special friends, Ed and Tracy Meeks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Lowther in 1994, sister, Mary Ellen Lamp, brother, Herman Harold Lamp, Jr., brother-in-law, John Earl Lowther, and one sister-in-law, Wilma Rogers.
Services will be held Friday, March 9, 2018, at 2 P. M. at the Ingram Funeral Home in St. Marys, WV, with Pastor Ed Meeks officiating. Interment will be in the Newport Cemetery in Newport, OH.
