Eli Thomas Estlack

Eli Thomas Estlack 90 years of age of Morgantown died Thursday March 15, 2018 at Monongalia General Hospital.

Thomas was born June 29, 1927 on Purgatory Run Road in Tyler County West Virginia.

Thomas was the son of the late Whitney C. Estlack and Georgia Henthorn Estlack.

He was educated in the Tyler County school system, Salem College and West Virginia University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. His first job was with Wetzel County School System as an instructor of veterans, 1949-50. He then went on to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Soil Conservation Service in Nicholas and Kanawha Counties 1951-67. He finished his career in Morgantown at the Soil Conservation Service State Office as Personnel Officer 1967-69 and State Administrative Officer 1970-1977.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Crystalee Trough Estlack, his son Mark Estlack ( Stephanie) and daughter Chris Estlack Riggs (Donald).

He has two grandchildren-Thomas James (TJ) Estlack and Holly Estlack Achee (Craig) and four great-grandchildren Taylor Estlack, Eli Estlack, Jillian Achee and Parker Achee all of Morgantown.

He was preceded in death by a sister Helen Jane Estlack of New Martinsville. Two living sisters Elizabeth Estlack Mullett of New Martinsville and Mary Lynn Estlack Mansfield of Silver Spring, MD. Multiple nieces, nephews and grand- nieces and nephews. All have been a true joy to him.

The family would like to thank Dr. John Lobban, his staff and the technology they provided in extending Thomas’ life by 15 years.

Visitation will be at Furbee Funeral Home in Alma, WV located at the intersection of WV RT 18 and WV RT 23 from 1-3 pm on March 18, 2018. His life will be celebrated at a graveside service at Bearsville- Fairview Cemetery located on Purgatory Run Road in Tyler County.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to American Heart Association 162 Court St, Charleston, WV or Bearsville-Fairview Cemetery 4441 Conaway Run Road, Middlebourne WV 26149.
