Herbert “Bob” Milton Billups

Herbert “Bob” Milton Billups, age 88, died at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, OH on November 29, 2017 after an extended illness. Born March 27, 1929 in Huntington, WV, to the late Leo and Mattie Billups, graduated from Huntington High School, and attended Marshall University. He retired from military service (Active and Reserves USMC) after 43 years, and a 30-year career with Boy Scouts of America (BSA) as a District Executive and Finance Director. Joined Kiwanis International as a volunteer in 1962. As a dedicated and passionate Kiwanian he served as President (4 clubs), Lieutenant Governor and Membership Director (3 years) for the Ohio District. He also oversaw the Ohio District Convention (1 year) and statewide Bowling Torment (2 years). He was a member of Elks for 58 years, American Legion, and a Mason. He loved traveling and taking international cruises. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Smith Billups; second wife Jane Roberts Frampton Billups; and stepson Daniel Roberts. He is survived by son Chris (Linda) Billups; stepson Mark (Denise) Roberts; stepdaughter Jana (Chuck) Lilly; daughter-in law Kimberly Roberts; grandchildren, Andrew Billups, Michael Billups, Benjamin (Rebecca) Roberts, Bradley Roberts, and Rebecca Roberts. Friends may call Saturday December 9, 2017 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, OH where a funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the residence at 2745 Bryn Mawr Drive, Lewis Center, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to your local Boy Scouts of America Council; BSA Troop 843 in Lewis Center, OH; or Northern Kiwanis Club of Clintonville, OH Scholarship Foundation.
