Charles C. Cox
Charles C. Cox, 84, of Mineral Wells, passed away December 1, 2017, at his residence.
He was born in Jackson County the son of the late Russell and Mazie Riddle Cox.
He was a graduate of Ripley High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He had worked for Harry’s Auto Electric and later for Energy Gas Co. where he was a warehouse foreman. He was a charter member of the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department. He loved fourwheeling with his friends and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Deloris Coast Cox of Mineral Wells; His daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” Bloomer (Edwin) of Mineral Wells and Nancy Weaver (Matt) of Parkersburg. His grandchildren, Amanda Gorrell (Cody) of Mineral Wells, Travis Bloomer of Ravenswood, Sarah Weaver of Parkersburg and Dylan Weaver of Parkersburg and his first great grandson on the way that will be here soon. His sister in law, Sharon Cox of FL.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Cox and William Cox.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Rev. Dr. Steve Gedon officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-8 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery c/o John Bareloh, 458 Turkey Foot Rd., Mineral Wells, WV 26150 or the Alzheimers Association.
