Virginia (Ginny) Arnott

Virginia (Ginny) Irene (Uhl) Arnott, 84, of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Wood County, WV October 29, 1933 a daughter of the late Lewis Douglas Uhl and Viola Rebecca (Lutz) Uhl.

Virginia graduated from Belpre High School and attended Mountain State College. She was employed as an accountant for the Valley Daily News of Tarentum, PA. She worked ten years as a teacher, office manager, and tax consultant for H & R Block. Virginia was a self-employed accountant for 22 years, and was an avid collector of original Cabbage Patch Kids. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Virginia is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Jo Ann Simpson of Parkersburg and Michele (Shelley) Gorrell (John Robert Gorrell) of Parkersburg, and one grandson, Zachary Lawrence Tumlin of College Park, MD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant brother, husband Lawrence (Larry) Arnott, and son-in-law Robert Wesley Simpson.

Service will be Thursday 3:00 P.M. at The Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Pastor, Dr. Kurt Busiek officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Parkersburg.
