Roy E. Skinner
Roy E. Skinner, 80, of Parkersburg, passed away November 11, 2017, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
He was born December 21, 1936, in Weston, WV, a son of the late Frank and Pauline (Allman) Skinner.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving with the 101st Airborne. He also served six years with the Army Reserves. He was the owner and operator of S&S Auto. He was a member of Calvary Memorial Church.
He enjoyed and collected old cars and he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children; Stephen Skinner (Ocie) of Parkersburg, Michael Skinner of Parkersburg, David Skinner (Happy) of Ocala, FL, Diana Gore (Tim) of Parkersburg and Tara Patterson (Brent) of Parkersburg.
He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren: Bub Snodgrass (Tracy), Trica Jones (Jeremy), Shandy Skinner (Lidia), Missy Skinner (Robbie), Christy Skinner, Andrea Skinner, Holly Long (Brian) and Chelsea Gore, Spencer Gore; his great grandchildren: Dylan Snodgrass, Caydence and Parker Jones, Lilly and Owen Skinner, Layken and Emery Skinner and Noelle Long; and faithful companion Mandy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy M. Skinner; a brother, Franklin Skinner; and a sister, Betty Blake.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 1PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Rev. Cynthia Eakle officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with military rites provided by American Legion Post 15. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8PM.
