Teresa N. DePue

Teresa N. DePue, 49, of Spencer, West Virginia, formerly of Parkersburg, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio after a short battle with cancer.

She was born October 27, 1967 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Gerald and Mary Frances DeBarr. She was raised in Parkersburg and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1985. In her younger years, Teresa used to show quarter horses and won many awards at these shows. She attended the St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church while in Parkersburg where she was a member of several groups.

She started her career in 1992 at the First Neighborhood Bank in Spencer as a teller and enjoyed doing credit analysis and loan review and was recently promoted to Sr. Vice President of the bank. She and her husband Fred lived on a farm outside of Spencer where they had several head of cattle and calves and they also own and operate a pallet recycling business in Spencer. She had recently gotten her real estate license and was selling for WV Land, Farm, and Home Realty. She and her husband Fred attended the Gilboa Baptist Church in the Grace Community near Spencer.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Fred DePue; her brothers and sister, David Curtis (Christie) DeBarr of Davisville, West Virginia and Dennis Craig (Sherry) DeBarr of Parkersburg and Linda K. (Jeff) Hamric of Davisville; her father-in-law, Bryan DePue of Spencer; her nieces and nephews, Eric (Bonnie) DeBarr, Susan F. (Jerry) Piggott, Amy (Brad) McCleary, Amanda (Chad) Stevens, Matthew (Bekah) DeBarr, Jesse (Chandra) DeBarr, Bryan (Erin) DeBarr, and Tara (Chad) Staats; and twelve great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twin great nieces.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with Rev. Larry Greathouse officiating. Visiting will be Sunday from 12:00 until time of the service. After the service, per the request of the family, Teresa will be cremated and buried at a later date at the DePue Cemetery near Spencer.
