Malcolm E. Cyrus, 91, of St. Albans, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, and was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Teays, W.Va., to the late Ora Arnold and Nora May Racer Cyrus. He was also preceded in death by grandson, Christian David Brown; sister, Ruby Lewis; and brother, Herman Cyrus.

Malcolm was retired from Union Carbide with 37 1/2 years of service. He attended New Hope Baptist Church, St. Albans, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving is his loving wife of 70 years, Phyllis B. Nichols Cyrus; daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and Kenner Brown Jr. of Asbury Lake, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Cyrus of Vienna; brother, Russell Cyrus of St. Albans; grandsons, David Jr., Kenner III and Caylyn, and 2 granddaughters and also 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Bartlett-Chapman Funeral Home, St. Albans, with Dr. Larry McCallister officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, with military honors.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
