Reverend G. Bryan Blair

Reverend G. Bryan Blair, 87, of Vienna passed away at the Willows Nursing Home on April 18, 2017. He was born in Vienna, WV, on January 10, 1930, the son of the late Glenn Blair and Margaret “Maggie” Full Blair.

Reverend Blair served as a full time United Methodist Minister for 44 years in the West Virginia United Methodist Conference. He also was a pilot and chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol having served 20 plus years in Williamstown, WV, and Point Pleasant, WV. He also served as a volunteer chaplain at Camden Clark Medical Center and Holzer Medial Center. One of his greatest joys in life was when he was President of UCAAP the United Church Alcohol Action Program. During retirement, he served as a part time pastor in various churches.

He was a member at the St. John’s United Methodist Church where he also enjoyed singing in the choir. He was always proud of his family and which was his number one priority. Bryan loved going to family reunions and other family gatherings.

Reverend Blair was survived by his wife of 64 years, Lois Eileen Brown Blair of Vienna; daughter, Susan Casey (Larry) of Vienna; two sons, Douglas Blair of Athens, OH and Gregory Blair (Kathy) of Moundsville, WV; five grandchildren, Matthew Blair, Lindsey Blair, Jennifer Blair, Ashley Casey and Larry John “LJ” Casey II (Vanessa); one great grandchild, Hunter Casey; sister, Naomi Couch of Belpre, OH; and a niece, Janice Enoch (Marvin).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two grandchildren Emily Del Chico Blair, Daniel Preston Blair; one brother, Eddy Blair; and an infant sister.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Reverend Rick DeQuasie, Reverend John Lowther, and Reverend Norman Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet cemetery. One hour visitation prior to the service.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home.
