John a. Goudy

John a. Goudy, 80, of Lubeck, WV, went to be with his Savior on April 13, 2017 following an extended illness.

John was the son of the late Robert Nobel and Senta Wanda Goudy.

He was a chemical operator at E.I. DuPont where he retired in 1993 after 35 years of service.

John was recognized as having been a member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church for over 50 years.

In his earlier years his hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, and scuba diving, motorcycle riding, collecting American Indian artifacts, and working his farm where he was raised.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Fern R. Goudy. He has a twin brother, Larry Nobel Goudy of Anniston, AL that survives him. John is survived by his 7 children, Alan (Jody) Earnest of Murraysville, WV, Senta (Roy Schleicher) Goudy of Parkersburg, Lea (David) Proudfoot Miller of Tyler, TX, David (Paula) Goudy, Robert Kevin (Cathy) Goudy, Kathleen Earnest, Heather Goudy, and an adopted daughter in love, Kaliegh Winland, all of Parkersburg.

He was a proud grandfather of Daniel Earnest, Nicholas, Dane, and Ryan Proudfoot, Valerie Full, Megan Goudy, Sarah Hensley, Alexandria Weaver, Mary Ashley Giffen and Elizabeth Fetterhoff. He had 8 great-grandchildren. He was blessed by the life-long friendship of Gene and Barbara Hoschar.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna Faye Goudy and their infant daughter.

Visitation will be Saturday from 2-4 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, South Parkersburg. The funeral service will immediately follow visitations at 4 p.m. with Pastor Joseph N. Bush officiating. Private graveside services will be at the convenience of the family. He will be interned at the Lubeck Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to South Parkersburg Baptist Church.
