Jimmy Jarrett

Patrolman Jimmy Jarrett, 84, of Vienna passed away April 25, 2017 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born January 24, 1933 in Rome, Georgia to the late Horton Nathaniel and Dixie Bell Cory Jarrett. He was in the first graduating class of the Police Academy in Charleston, WV, and retired with over 20 years of service as a Police officer with the Vienna Police Department. He was a U.S.A.F. veteran of the Korean Conflict in the 82nd Airborne Division and also a member of the Blennerhassett F.O.P. Lodge #79. He had worshipped with the Salvation Army.

He is survived by his daughter, Anekia Greiner of Parkersburg; a brother, Buck Lee Jarrett of Rome, Georgia and a sister, Ruby Smith of Macon, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Deloris Jarrett; a brother, Nate Jarrett; and two sisters, Peggy and Sarah Jarrett.

Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg with Rev. Jonathan Nettles officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday.
