Calvin E. Lott

Calvin E. Lott passed away April 22, 2017, following a long fight with pneumonia after heart surgery at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was 73 and lived on Rock Run Road, Walker.

Calvin is survived by his three sons and their wives; David and Dee of Dallison, Daniel and Tamra of Walker, Doug and Sharron of Cottonwood, Alabama; daughter, Allison Hodges of Florida. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren; Brittany, Ashley, Katie, Amber, BJ, Travis, Thomas, Johnathan, Lakota, LouMasi, James, Katrina, Karlee, Linsey and great grandchildren; Brayden, Josh, Nickolas, Wyatt, Hunter, Maelyn, Aiden, Johnathan, Jordaan, and Jayliana. He is also survived by brothers; Coleman, Louie, Phillip, and Butch and one sister, Peggy.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; brothers; James, Donald, Jerry, Steadman, and Raymond, and sister, Dorothy.

Calvin was born November 5, 1943, to James and Dorothy Lott in Florida. He married Mary Belt, June 23, 1963. They moved with their three sons to West Virginia in 1973. He worked for the Carpenter’s Union for 20 years. He was also a security guard at WVU-P for many years.

Calvin was a man that loved to help others. “If you can’t help them, don’t hurt them” was his personal motto. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to treat others, whistle and wink. He enjoyed his personal, quiet time with his faith and studying the Bible. He was a friend to all.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 27, from 5-8 p.m., at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and graveside service will be 10 a.m., Friday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Elder Dennis Bennett officiating.
