Edward J. Alesius
Edward J. Alesius, 83, of Lakeview Estates, Parkersburg, W.Va., died March 18, 2017.
Born May 2,1933, in Homestead, Pa., Ed is survived by his sister, Ellen; his wife of 64 years, Clara; sons, Alan and Keith; several grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Ed is also predeceased by parents, Kazimer and Elizabeth Alesius; a sister, Isabelle; and sons, Charles and Robert.
He graduated from Munhall High School and raised his family in nearby West Mifflin, Pa. Ed’s career in computer security spanned 26 years at Fisher Scientific in Pittsburgh, and upon moving to Parkersburg, 14 years at the Bureau of the Public Debt. Known as “Putter Ed” by his golf buddies, he most enjoyed playing golf in his retirement.
He also was a driver for McClinton Chevrolet. Ed lived out his faith in God as a devout member of the Catholic Church. He will be deeply missed as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
A viewing is planned at Leavitt Funeral Home, 403 Seventh St., Parkersburg, on Tuesday, March 21, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. A Mass to celebrate his life will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church, 2500 Dudley Ave., Parkersburg, on Wednesday, March 22, at 11 a.m. A second viewing at Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home, 3501 Main St., Munhall, Pa., will be held Thursday, March 23, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and by a Mass at Resurrection Church, 3909 Donna Ave, West Mifflin, Pa., on Friday, March 24.
