Lavada (Scott) Crook
Lavada Crook, 94, of Parkersburg was reunited with her husband of 73 years, Edmond Crook, on February 21, 2017.
She was the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Georgia Scott of Rockport, WV.
Lavada, or MOM as many called her, enjoyed numerous hobbies. She could hunt, fish, camp, hike, garden, sew and bowl, but, she will undoubtedly be remembered for her “country cooking”. She was a member of FCRV/NCHA, Good Sam Club, Holiday Ramblers and became a Kentucky Colonel on August 25, 1980. In her final years she was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Parkersburg.
Lavada is survived by one sister, Mable (Scott) Dowler, two daughters, Cathy (Jim) Amick of Parkersburg and Cindy (Mark) Thomas of Michigan City, IN. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Ed (Dee) Ayers of Washington, WV, Mike (Luann) Ayers of Parkersburg, Greg (Missie) Weaver of Vienna, Larry (Tracie) Weaver of New Lima, OK, Amy (James) Kovacs of Eielson A.F.B., Alaska, Lori (Nathan) Moore of Lebanon, OH and Matt (Monica) Amick of Parkersburg. Also surviving are 20 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by twin daughters, Sandra Ayers of Washington, WV and Sharon Weaver of Parkersburg, as well as 5 sisters and 1 brother.
Service will be at Saturday 11:00 am at the Leavitt Funeral Home, 403 7th Street, Parkersburg with Pastor Todd Hill officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Friday 3:30-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
