Paul Edward Cornell

Paul Edward Cornell, 83, of Vienna, passed away September 23, 2016, at Camden Clark Medical Center.

He was born February 26, 1933 at Cornwallis in Ritchie County, W.Va. and was the eldest son of the late Roy and Elizabeth Ross Cornell.

He was a graduate from Cairo High School with the class of 1951 and later attended the University of Maryland and Marietta College. After serving in the Army in Korea, he worked for 12 years at what was then Union Carbide Plastics in Marietta and for another 23 years selling heating and plumbing supplies. He was a member of Vienna Masonic Lodge and was an avid hunter, fisherman and bowler. He bowled in the Senior Leagues at Emerson Lanes and will be remembered for his sense of humor and willingness to help his friends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annagrace (Ann) Smith Cornell; daughter, Paula Lichiello and her husband, Stephen of Forest, Va.; grandson, Anthony Paul Lichiello and his wife, Anna of Alexandria, Va.; two granddaughters, Anna Lichiello of Fairfax, Va. and Stephanie Lichiello of Winston-Salem, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Jackson Paul Lichiello and Hailey Jane Lichiello of Alexandria, Va.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Hinton; and two brothers, Bill Cornell and Ken Cornell.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna with Pastor Carolyn Nettles of Wesley U.M.C officiating. Burial will follow the service in Cairo at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday at the funeral home from 3-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the O. Eugene and Mary Scott Smith Memorial Fund to benefit Ritchie County Schools, c/o PACF, Box 1762, Parkersburg, W.Va. 26101, or the Good Samaritan Center at Wayside United Methodist Church, Grand Central Ave, Vienna, W.Va. 26105.
