Darrell Warren Moore
Darrell Warren Moore, 60, of Harrisville, (Washburn-Gillespie Community), passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016.
Darrell was born Oct. 2, 1955, in Parkersburg, the son of the late Sampson Warren and Hesther (Bond) Moore. In March, Darrell retired after 36 years of service as a maintenance mechanic at the Pleasants Power Station. For many years, Darrell shared a great passion of racing with his two sons. He loved to go racing and touched so many lives while at the racetrack. After his recent retirement, he spent his time working on the race car and could be found working on one of his many projects. Darrell’s other passion in life was riding his tractor working around his property which served as therapy for him. He was a kind, forgiving, loving person whose loss will be felt far and wide. His happy-go-lucky personality and his smile could lighten any situation and he was one who you could call on when things were broken because he knew how to fix them. He was a proud graduate of Harrisville High School with the class of 1973 and greatly loved his grandkids.
He is survived by the love of his life for 40 years, Teresa “Terri” (Freed) Moore; sons, Chris Moore (Michelle) of Cary, Ill., and Scott Moore (Lindsay) of Harrisville, (Washburn-Gillespie Community); grandchildren, Logan Meeks, Zane Moore, Jett Moore, and Vivian Moore; sister and brother in law, Pat & Richard Boggess of Parkersburg; niece, Kelly Boggess and nephew, Matt Boggess, both of Parkersburg; and his special cat, Jazzy.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today, Sept. 30, 2016, at the Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, and from 11-noon Saturday. Following the visitation Saturday, graveside service will take place in the Hartley Cemetery near Brohard, W.Va.
