Shane Light

Wesley “Shane” Light, 57, of St. Marys, W.Va., passed away Aug. 27, 2014, at his home.

He was born April 23, 1957, in Sistersville, W.Va., a son of the late Margaret Burl Doty and Fred Light.

A Sistersville Tiger through and through, Shane graduated from his beloved SHS in 1977. He was employed by Precision, Inc., retiring with 35 years of service. Shane was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially “catching” turtles, and riding his fourwheeler. He was a member of Steel Workers Union 13252.

In addition to his parents, Shane was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary, Pete and Dale Light; and a sister, Sharon Light Wagner. Shane is survived by his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Dearth Light of St. Marys; one sister, Janet Phillips of Woodsfield, Ohio; one daughter, Micah Anthony of Morgantown, W.Va., Amber Olliverio of Clarksburg, W.Va., who was like a daughter to Shane; three grandchildren, Madison, Maris and Levi Anthony, all of Morgantown, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at 505 Rose Street, St. Marys, W.Va.
