Donna Jean Carpenter, 67, of Walker, Dallison Community, passed away Aug. 5, 2014, at the Memorial Campus of Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 15, 1946, in Marietta, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles G. Johnson and Virginia Belle (Forrester) Johnson.
Donna worked for Hills Department Store in Parkersburg, and enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. She was a 1964 graduate of Warren High School.
Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Arnold Carpenter; children, Arnold “Arnie” Carpenter III (Missy) of Vienna, Laura Murphy (Robb) of Murphytown, and Chris Carpenter (Misty) of Marietta; siblings, Linda McKenzie (Bryan) of Marietta, Charles “Ed” Johnson of Marietta, Donald Johnson (Liz) of Oveida, Fla., William “Bill” Johnson (Joyce) of Fleming, Ohio, and Gerald Johnson (Joan) of Mt. Pleasant, N.C. She also leaves behind four loving grandchildren, Aaron Carpenter, Kayla Murphy, Tyler Gill and Kristi Carpenter; great-grandson, Aaron Carpenter; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bob” Johnson; and granddaughter, Tricia Lynn Murphy.
Funeral services will be 12 Noon Thursday, Aug. 7, at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Lester Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
