Brenda M. Lilly

Brenda M. Lilly, 51, of Lubeck, W.Va., passed away July 14, 2014, at the Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born April 20, 1963, the daughter of Paul E. Caplinger and Geneva Burton Caplinger of Parkersburg.

She was a graduate of Parkersburg South High School and received her Undergraduate Degree from Marshall University and Masters Degree from W.V.U., and was currently employed as a Physical Education and Health teacher at Parkersburg South High School. She had previously been employed at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Lubeck. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and her sons were the joy of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Art Lilly; her sons, James and Sean Lilly, at home; her parents, Paul and Geneva Caplinger; her mother-in-law, Joann Meier of Raleigh, N.C.; her grandmother, Marie Tracewell of Belpre; her sister, Karen (Lou) Grogg of Lubeck, who helped care for her; and three brothers, David (Debbie) Caplinger of Vienna, Mike Caplinger of Lubeck, and Tom (Sherri) Caplinger of Rockport. She is also survived by several nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Anna and Loyd Caplinger; and grandfather, Francis Clyde Burton.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Father John Rice as celebrant. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with a Christian Wake Service at 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens.

The family would sincerely like to thank Dr. Nik Shah and his staff, Sandy in Ultra Sound at St. Joe., Drs. Peter and Phil Strobl, Dr. Terry Shank, Dr. Hensley, Tina Knopp, and Nurses Al, Lisa and Martha at CCMC. Thanks to Jennifer, Stephanie, Cheryl, Sue and her nephew, Bill, and all the others that helped care for her.
