Norma “Jean” Curtin

Norma “Jean” Curtin, 81, of Washington Courthouse, Ohio, went to sleep in Jesus, on April 25, 2014, at her home.

She was born Jan. 5, 1933, in Wood County, W.Va., to the late Samuel Porter and Anna Laura (King) Braniff.

She was formerly employed by Orient State Institute, as well as providing private care to those in special need. She was a member of the Wilmington Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Mrs. Curtin is survived by her daughters, Teresa Cooper (Joe), Eileen Johnson (Larry) and Kathleen Nichols; sisters, Pauline Syruws (Sam), Carolyn Thornton and Sue Burnem; brothers, James Braniff (Linda) and Gary Braniff (Sue); as well as nieces, nephews and special grandchildren, Shira Beedy, Jacob Curtin and David Morris; and many others. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Curtin was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Nichols; by her second husband, Charles Curtin; her son, Charles Michael “Nick” Nichols Jr.; sisters, Mary Evelyn Braniff and Marie Depue; brothers, Samuel Braniff Jr., Thomas Braniff, Paul Braniff, Larry Braniff and Charles Braniff.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the Summers Funeral Home, with Pastor Roy Lawinsky officiating. Burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Friends may call from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested for the Wilmington Seventh-day Adventist Church or Hospice of Fayette County.
