David Keith Miller

David Keith Miller, 66, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away March 9, 2014, at Four Winds Nursing Facility in Jackson, Ohio.

He was born April 12, 1947, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late Cecil Herman Miller and the late Mary Helen Nichols Miller Downs.

He was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. While serving his country in Korea, he helped to establish an orphanage. Upon returning to the U.S., he served in the National Guard. He was the owner/operator of Sebastian’s Restaurant in Parkersburg, was former owner of Poor Richards Restaurants in Parkersburg and Spencer, W.Va., and Jonathan’s of Orlando. He enjoyed white water rafting and touring the western United States.

David is survived by his wife, Lavada Lynn Vance Miller; his daughter, Tara Miller of Whipple, Ohio; his son, Matthew Miller of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Pam Douglas and Johnda Cantrell, both of Flatwoods, Ky.; his brother, Philip Downs, also of Flatwoods, Ky.; and three grandchildren, Hanna Grady, Cade Faulkner and Kendall Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, John Cain Downs, Jr.; a son, Jeffrey Keith Miller; and a brother, Stephen Michael Miller.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va., with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at Vance Cemetery in Wurtland, Ky. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
