James R. Flannery

James Rufus Flannery, 77, of Coolville, Ohio, passed away Feb. 14, 2014, at his residence.

He was born May 8, 1936, in Olive Hill, Ky., a son of the late Clyde and Eva Marie Collins Flannery.

He was a former U.S. Marine serving in Korea. He was employed by the former Demuth Glass as a production worker. James enjoyed hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. He was a devout Christian and attended Camden Temple Church.

James is survived by Dortha Jean Gregg of Walker, his wife from a former marriage; one daughter, Rebecca Ann Blevins (Shawn) of Parkersburg; three sons, James A. Flannery of Columbus, Ohio, Thomas R. Flannery (Janet) of Middlebourne, W.Va., and Steven B. Flannery and his companion, Georgia, of Boaz, W.Va.; two sisters, Linda Lyons of Parkersburg and Floretta Long of Washington, W.Va.; twin brothers, Ronald Flannery (Paula) of Mineral Wells, W.Va., and Donald Flannery (Alicia) of Ritchie County, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife from a former marriage, Barbara Lou; one brother, Jack Flannery; and one sister, Emma Kelly.

A memorial service for Mr. Flannery will be 2 p.m. Thursday, with Pastor Ray Tanner officiating, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
