Judith Ann Remke Hayhurst

Judith Ann Remke Hayhurst, 66, of Washington, W.Va., passed away at her home on Jan. 16, 2014, after a brave and courageous battle against cancer.

She was born Aug. 18, 1947, in Moundsville, W.Va., the daughter of Helen Remke and the late William Remke Jr.

She was a graduate of Moundsville High School, class of 1965. She attended Mt. State Business College where she met her future husband, and later went on to earn an Associates Degree from WVU-P in 1992. She was the past director of the Cancer Society of Parkersburg, and past co-owner of the Personal Touch Boutique. She then went on to be a tour guide for Adventure Tours. She was a member of the Lubeck Garden Club. She was a full time grandmother, never missing a school or sporting event. She was their biggest fan.

She is survived by husband of 47 years, Kyle Hayhurst of Washington; one son, William David Hayhurst of Kittrell, N.C.; one daughter, DeAnn Hayhurst Riddle of Lubeck; three grandchildren, Hunter, Walker and Laken Riddle of Lubeck; brother, Philip Remke (Loretta) of Moundsville; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and extended family. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents; and a nephew, Christopher Remke.

There will be a private memorial service for the family at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
