Carl D. Morris

Carl D. Morris, 85, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away Nov. 8, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

Carl was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Arkansas, a son of the late Jessie W. and Levinia Avery Morris.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Wood County School Bus Garage where he was a mechanic and bus driver. Carl was a member of Independent Baptist Church in Vienna.

He is survived by a daughter, Susan Wright of Vienna; a son, C. David Morris (Christine) of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Lee Worley (Angela) of Florida, Jared Morris of Parkersburg, Joshua Morris (Serena) of Pensacola, Fla., and Jonathan Morris of Parkersburg; six great-grandchildren, Laura, Emily, Michael and Grace Morris of Pensacola, Fla., and Cadence and Jacob Morris of Parkersburg.

In addition to his parents , he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor Rose Morris; and four sisters.

A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna, with Pastor Mike Elder officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park in Reno, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services Tuesday.
