Nancy L. Higgins
Nancy L. Higgins, 64, of Pennsboro, W.Va., born Nov. 3, 1948, daughter of the late Willie B. and Nancy A. Cornell Kidder, died at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus on Oct. 11, 2013.
She was a 1966 graduate of Belpre High School. Early on Nancy worked as a unit secretary at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital, later she co-owned Pennsboro Adult Care Home and worked through RCIFS and touched many lives through her unselfish giving over the years since trusting the Lord as her personal savior on Aug. 26, 1980. Through the soul-winning efforts of Pastors Eddy Bellville and Dwight Davis, she monitored at the Christian School, taught Sunday School, sang in the choirs and set a fine example for others, and she had affiliations and membership with Valley Bible Center, Bible Way Baptist, Hope Freewill Baptist and Southside Baptist Church, each dependent on where she resided. She joined the Harrisville Moose Club in 2012.
She is survived by her husband of over 43 years, Richard “Rick” Higgins Sr.; daughter, Kelli A. McPeek; son, Richard “Rick” Higgins Jr. (Stephanie); grandchildren, Stephen Jr., Kyle and Olivia McPeek and Mitchell and Alex Higgins; brothers and sisters, Ed (Mary) Kidder, Karen (Bill) Locke and Keith (Sue) Kidder; mother-in-law, Gladys Higgins; brother and sisters-in-law, Bill (Bonnie) Higgins, Dianne (Al) Piggott, Sharon Reeder and Kim (Don) Carroll; and many special uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends she cherished. Also special to her was S. Chad McPeek.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother-in-law, Lake; sister-in-law, Jo-an Parsons; and brother-in-law, Carl Reeder.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home in Pennsboro, with Pastor Bud Corbin and David Murray officiating. Friends may call at Leavitt Funeral Home in Belpre on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home.
