Marvin ‘Marv’ Evans

Marvin “Marv” V. Evans, 74, of Parkersburg, passed from this life to the next on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, at CCMC Memorial Campus, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born Sept. 8, 1939 in New Matamoras, Ohio to the late Warren and June (White) Evans.

Marv and his wife Mary are the owners of “My Way Lounge and Restaurant”, a business they started together 26 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved to cook meals for his family and spend time with his six beloved Chihuahuas, especially Peppie.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Evans; two daughters, Carol Danver and her husband Greg, who was more a son to Marv than a son-in law, and Meghan Evans; one son, Richard Evans; two grandsons, Anthony Earley and Trae Evans; a special daughter-in-law Teresa Evans, and Phyllis Evans, mother of Richard and Carol. Also one sister, Doris Thompson (Mike Doan) and many, many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Brian Michael Evans, who passed Oct. 28, 1998 and who was truly missed by Marv every day.

The funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 11, beginning at 1 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Rev. Norman Butler officiating. Burial will follow the service at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
