Jacqueline A. “Jackie” Hunter, 85, of Vincent, Ohio died on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 17, 1928 in Coshocton, Ohio, and was the daughter of the late Shelbie and Grace Drye Bible. She attended the Light House Baptist Church. She retired from Forma Scientific. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Marietta, she enjoyed Square dancing with the Senior Group in Marietta, loved bowling and watching the birds outside her window, especially the hummingbirds.
Survivors include her husband Herbert E. Hunter; two sons, Ronald G. Mercer of Zanesville, Ohio, Terry D. (Melody) Mercer of Vincent, Ohio; a stepson, Patrick S. (Sheri) Hunter of Fleming, Ohio; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Glen Overholt; two sisters-in-law, Jean Mercer and Jane Bible. Also surviving is her dog Benji and special friends, Bob and Laura Petty.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Mercer, parents, four sisters, Mildred Stitts, Betty Preacher, Mary Snyder, Astella (Dottie) Overholt, four brothers, Robert, Walter, Richard and Bruce Bible.
Services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Rob Vernon officiating. Burial will follow in the Barlow Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m..
