Robert Wallbrown

Robert E. “Bob” Wallbrown, former president of Tri-State Roofing and Sheet Metal Co. at Davisville, W.Va., and consultant at The Mountain Co. in Vienna, W.Va., and Captain and Pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps, passed away Aug. 24, 2013, at Joanne’s House of Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, Fla.

He was born in Otto, W.Va. on May 26, 1931, the only child of Olive Jane (Benear) and William H. Wallbrown.

After graduating from Parkersburg High School in 1949, he attended Marietta College before joining the Naval Cadet program, where he earned his wings and commission and then transferred to the Marine Corps. Upon completion of his tour, he started with Tri-State in 1956, going on to The Mountain Co. in 1993 and retiring in 2011.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janis Wolfe Wallbrown, and their children, Cynthia (Mark) Becker, Tim Wallbrown, Steve (Gena) Wallbrown, Nancy (Ed) Dotson and Karen (Dave) Schramm; grandchildren, Trevor and Tracy Thompson, Caroline and Casey Becker and Emma and Carson Wallbrown; and step-grandchildren, Joan and Gina Schramm.

Memorial services will be held at Leavitt Funeral Home Family Center, Parkersburg, W.Va. on Sept. 7.
