Michael Edward Wallace

Michael E. Wallace, 67, of Parkersburg, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph’s Campus.

He was born Oct. 15, 1945 in Athens, Ohio, a son of the late Louis and Catherine Wallace.

He was a decorated U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was employed by the Wood County Board of Education as a custodian for Parkersburg South High School, where he retired after 25 years. He was a NASCAR fan and also a fan of baseball and football. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and he loved animals.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Florence V. Wallace; his children, William Jack (Sandi) of Vienna, John Jack of Vienna, Larry Jack (Barbra) of Parkersburg, Vickie Hixon of Parkersburg, Earl Allman (Pam) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Earlene Workman (Mark) of Vienna, Tammy Ice (Harry) of Parkersburg, and Ed Allman (Joni) of Pittsburgh, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathy Shuman of Parkersburg; a brother, Steven Wallace of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the Leavitt Funeral Home Parkersburg, with pastor Mark Watkins officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
