Guy E. Templeton

Guy E. Templeton, 85, of St. Marys, W.Va., passed away Aug. 28, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus in Parkersburg, W.Va.

He was born Sept. 23, 1927, in Pleasants County, W.Va., a son of the late Pearl and Amanda Hoff Templeton. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on June 26, 1947. He was employed as a union carpenter for over 50 years, working in Ohio for Rhulin and throughout West Virginia. He was a member of the French Creek Baptist Church of St. Marys.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Etta Lorene Plumm Templeton; children, Thomas E (Margret) Templeton, Robert A. (Jackie) Templeton, William G. (Beverly) Templeton, Patricia L. (Albert) Bessette, John D. (Linda) Templeton, and Pamela A. (Russell) Huff; grandcildren, Pamela L. (Brad), Tammy L. Templeton, Joseph G. Farson, Brenda L. (William) Moyer, Margret L. Templeton, Jaclyn L. (Daniel) Shackleford, Diana K. Farson, Michelle N. Huff, Steven (Brook) Oldfield, Mark Johnston, Kim Story, Debbie Johnston, and Tori (Sharon) Duncan; twenty-seven great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, one brother, Charles E. (Kay) Templeton, sisters-in-law, Mary A. Zubreski, Alberta Templeton, Rebecca Templeton, and multiple nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Pearl Templeton, Harold Templeton, Raymond Templeton, Bill Templeton, Dexter Templeton, Larry Templeton, and twin brothers, sisters, Bertha Toth and Ruth Fauss, and a step grandson, David Watkins, Jr.

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 31, at 1 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, with Pastor Wayne Nichols officiating. Interment will be in the Willow Island Cemetery, Willow Island, W.Va., with military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
