E.A. “Jim” Kelley
Ephraim Arnold Kelley, Sr. of Parkersburg, W.Va., left this world Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, while under the care of Ohio Valley Health Care.
He was born July 11, 1928, as the eldest son of the late Charles Arnold and Velva Losch Kelley.
He was a truck driver for 42 years, retiring from Carolina Freight at Mineral Wells, W.Va. He was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of Coolville, Ohio.
He is survived by his daughter, Judie Ludwig (Jim) of Washington, W.Va.; sons Arnold Kelley (Sue) of Parkersburg and Charles Kelley (Diane) of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; six grandchildren Trista N. Kelley of Fairmont, W.Va., Joanie Mahaney (Matt) of Vienna, Jamie Donahue (Matt) of Parkersburg, Jody Ludwig (Chrystina) of Davisville, W.Va., Michael Kelley of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Becky Kelley of Bellville, Ohio; two great-grandchildren Seneca Donahue of Fairmont, W.Va. and Shamus Mahaney of Vienna; a sister Hettie Irene Reed of Waterford, Ohio; a brother Willard Douglas Kelley of Murraysville, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Emma Jean Flannery Kelley in 2011, who was his high school sweetheart; and sisters Alta Lurae Surbaugh and Joanna Porter.
Services will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor George Horner officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery North. Visitation will be Friday from 3-7 p.m.
Jim was very instrumental in creating Camp Albyoca, a Grace Brethren Church Camp in Meyersdale, Pa. The family requests that donations in his honor be made for the camp to Coolville Grace Brethren Church, P.O. Box 235, Coolville, OH.
