Tom L. Davis

Tom L. Davis, 68, of Parkersburg, passed away July 6, 2013, at the Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

He was born in Parkersburg, Jan. 18, 1945, a son of the late Albert Shannon and Mary Violet Grimm Davis.

Tom was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam. He had worked for Atlas Trailer and with Contract Mail for several years. Tom was an avid race fan having owned and built several race cars. He also enjoyed antique cars, yard sales and time with his dog, “Joe”, and will be remembered as a kind man who looked for the best in everyone.

Surviving Tom are his children, Tommy L. Carder of Belpre, Tammy J. Gibson of Parkersburg, Mark A. Davis of Mineral Wells, and Tommy L. Snider of Parkersburg; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Bertha Bonar of Belpre; several nieces and nephews; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law; the second love of his life, Barb Williams and her children, Jim, Bev, Shane, Ted and Wes; her sisters, “Bogan”, Betty, Rose and Daisey, whom he thought of as his second mother; and many friends including those who he loved to meet at McDonalds. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by the first love of his life, Jeanne Richards Davis; his sister, Pearl Starcher; and brother, Albert Junior Davis.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Gardens, with Pastor Robert Kniley officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
