William “Bill” Cawley

William “Bill” Cawley, 63, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Marietta, Ohio, a son of the late Dan and Mary Jane Gavin Cawley. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and co-owner/operator of Weiser & Cawley Furniture Store in Marietta. He enjoyed golfing and radios, and was an avid radio collector.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Todd Cawley; two daughters, Mikalyn Oldaker (James) of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Amanda Haddox of Vienna, W.Va.; step-mother, Nancy Sheridan Cawley of Vienna; two sisters, Betsey Thrift (Barry) of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Janie Wittekind (Roger) of Marietta, Ohio; sister-in-law, Cathy Cawley of Williamstown, W.Va.; two brothers, Dan Cawley and James Cawley (Joyce) of Marietta, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jade Thomas, Jimmy Haddox, Eve Haddox and Cali Haddox; mother-in-law, Shirley Todd of Waverly, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sally Binegar and Katie Shapiro; a brother, Frank Cawley; and a sister-in-law, Peggy Cawley.

There will be a private graveside service Friday at the St. Marys Cemetery in Marietta, Ohio. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 20, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, WV 26101.

Bill loved life and spending time with his family. He was loved and will be missed by family and friends. He never missed a chance to make you laugh by telling a joke.
