Teddy “Ted” Dyer

Teddy Eugene Dyer 70, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away after a long and courageous battle with renal cell cancer on June 26, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 1, 1942 in Loraine, Ohio, a son of the late Joseph Dyer and Opal Leeson Dyer.

Teddy graduated from Belpre High School with the class of 1960 and continued his education earning his bachelors degree from Ohio University. He served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam conflict. He worked as an administrator for Ohio University and retired from Washington State Community College. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Belpre Mason Lodge No. 609 and American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg.

Teddy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Carolyn Dyer; a son, Travis Dyer (Michelle) of Gibsonville, N.C.; a brother, Terry Dyer, of Florida; four grandchildren, Cole, Preston, Cortlynd and Kristen, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved pets Harley, Cinders, Abby, and Misty.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Peggy Dotson.

There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, with Pastor Dave Hubbard officiating at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home Belpre, Ohio. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
