Lucille Holbert, 91, of Parkersburg, died June 7, 2013, at the Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Jane Lew, W.Va., a daughter of the late Claude N. and Etta Boylen VanHorn.
She was a graduate of Jane Lew High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Clarksburg, W.Va. She was a member of Stout Memorial United Methodist Church, Upper Room Sunday School Class and Rebecca Circle.
She is survived by three children, Ken (Ann) Holbert, Diane (Dave) Chambers and Denise (Grant) DeGarmo, all of Vienna; six grandchildren, Chrisy Nestor, Brad Holbert, Benjamin Chambers, Stephen Chambers, Lauren DeGarmo and Jonathan DeGarmo; one great-grandson, Dalton (Kim) Hodge; one great-great-granddaughter, Adalee Hodge; sister-in-law, Margaret VanHorn of Charleston, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. John L. Holbert; one brother, Donzel VanHorn; and two sisters, Lorraine Randolph and Eloise Holbert.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Stout Memorial United Methodist Church, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Paul Russell and the Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
