Janet M. Cook

Janet M. Cook, 70, of Belpre, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at her home after a long battle with cancer with her family at her side.

She was born in Petroleum, W.Va., on May 31, 1943, and was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Roberts. Janet enjoyed decorating for the holidays, playing her organ and planting many flowers for summer and fall and spending time with family and enjoying her grandchildren.

She was a member of the Lubeck Community Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Cecil F. Cook; four children, Trena M. Cook, of Washington, W.Va., Robert B. Cook (Michelle) of Pennsboro, W.Va., John D. Cook of Washington, and Sara R. Kiser (Justin) of Parkersburg; her siblings, Harley G Roberts (Lilly) of Barlow, Ohio, Michael Roberts (Edna) of Parkersburg, Tina Reeder (Perry) of Washington, and Tammy White (Van) of Parkersburg; a special aunt Peg Pickrell (Charles) of Pond Creek, W.Va.; a special friend Mary McCoy of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Cook, Melanie Cook, Amber Boyde, Kindra Boyde, Chase Kiser, Kati Kiser, and Brayden Kiser; two stepgrandchildren, Samatha and Emily; and one great-grandchild, Andra Lee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, John and Larry Roberts.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Mark Houser officiating. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
