Maxine Lucille Duckworth, 68, of Mineral Wells, passed away May 22, 2013, at her home unexpectedly.
She was born in Wood County, a daughter of the late John Lloyd and Edith Blanche Shaffer Flinn. She was raised by her Uncle and Aunt, the late Herb and Mary Shaffer of Belleville.
Maxine was a 1962 graduate of PHS, was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and church study groups and was a Homemaker.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening, wildlife and flowers.
Surviving are her husband, Michael Clinton Duckworth; two sons, Pastor Michael Christopher (Kendra Michelle) Duckworth of Capon Bridge, W.Va. and Preston Grant (Lisa) Duckworth of Mineral Wells; three grandchildren, Matthew Duckworth, Brandon Duckworth and Darrian Duckworth; one sister, Arlene (the late Robert) Martin of Hilliard, Ohio, and their children, Sudonna Martin, Tom and Rick Martin.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church at Mineral Wells, Rev. Kevin Lantz will officiate and burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The visitation will be at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
