Dean Templeton Lauer

Deal Templeton Lauer, 82, of Ravenswood, W.Va., passed away May 24, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus, Parkersburg, W.Va.

He was born Nov. 18, 1930, the son of Gilbert Lauer and Clara Warren Lauer.

He was an industrial engineer for Kaiser Aluminum. He graduated from Marietta High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree at Ohio University. He was an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church in Ravenswood. He taught at Marietta College and also coordinated the Industrial Engineering program there. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood. He loved fishing, traveling and gardening, and met regularly with fellow Kentucky Colonels.

Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Lauer, Ravenswood, W.Va.; daughter, Cathy Lambi and husband, Mario, South Lyon, Mich.; brother, Josef Lauer and wife, Joanne, Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, Katherine and Christopher Lauer, San Angelo, Texas, and Alexander and Sarah Lambi, South Lyon, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Coleen Stein; and a brother, Keith Lauer.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, W.Va. Friends may visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
