Victor Earl ‘Vic’ Ingram

Victor Earl ‘Vic’ Ingram, 86, of Spencer, W.Va., passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013, at Miletree Center in Spencer.

He was born July 5, 1926, in Lubeck, W.Va., a son of the late Walter Allen and Yula Ombra Smith Ingram. Vic retired in 1984 as a linesman with Monongahela Power. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening and farming, and valued hard work. He was a member of the Spencer Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Germany with the Engineering Team.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Frances Simmons Ingram; four daughters, Jean (Paul) Guerette of Bowdoinham, Maine, and Vicki (Gordon) Rosenthal, Gayle (Tony) Ingram and Kelli Ingram, all of Damascus, Md.; two brothers, Glenn ‘Skip’ and Walter Ingram Jr., both of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and six grandchildren, Elliott, David, Nicholas, Andrew, Elizabeth and Jonathan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Elsie, Beulah and Geneva; and two brothers, Bruce and Paul.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer, with Rev. Ron Buckalew officiating. Burial and graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery near Parkersburg. Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
