Theodore (Ted) Edwin Snider, 81, of Belpre, passed away April 4, 2013, at Harmar Place.
Ted was born Nov. 12, 1931, at Parkersburg, a son of the late Edwin and Marie Florence Snider. He had retired from Elkem Metal, was a member of the Friendship Ridge Christian Fellowship Church, Marietta I.O.O.F. #67, and the Marietta Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors include three sons, Michael (Debbie) Snider of Reno, Ohio, Stephen (Kelly) Snider of Belpre, and Tim (Kim) Snider of Little Hocking; and three daughters, Linda (Rick) Nuhfer of Williamstown, Dianne Robinson of Belpre, and Stacie Snider of Athens. Also surviving is one brother, James (Pat) Snider of Belpre; one sister, Inez (Steve) Vekich of Marietta; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a dear friend, Karen Hathaway; and his fur babies, ‘Sassie’, ‘Nekah’, ‘Paige’ and ‘Smurf’. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence ‘Jean’ Hickenbottom Snider in 2011.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, with Pastor David Ellenwood officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services Monday. I.O.O.F. Memorial services by Marietta Lodge #67 will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
